TV3 to serve up NZ version of Come Dine With Me

Guy Williams to narrate NZ version of British cooking programme Come Dine With Me

Comedian Guy Williams will narrate Come Dine With Me NZ.

A New Zealand version of the British cooking programme Come Dine With Me, will begin on TV3 next week.

The channel has announced that Come Dine With Me NZ will replace Road Cops in the 7pm weeknights timeslot, starting next Monday 15 June.

Come Dine With Me NZ will be narrated by comedian Guy Williams, who each week introduces five strangers who will battle it out over the course of five episodes for the title of 'ultimate dinner party host'.

They score each other's efforts, and at the end of the week the winning host walks away with a cash prize of $2000.

"I love the British version of the show and if I can be half as good as that guy then I reckon it's going to be a great show," said Williams.

"I think there's nothing better than looking behind-the-scenes into people's lives for an evening. It's endearing, entertaining and most importantly hilarious."

The first week will feature Monika, a Slovakian child carer, who's all about silly with a side of spice; Tony, an eccentric real estate agent with some cutting critiques and a few 'endearing quirks'; Hinemoa, a part-time tattooist and full-time eyebrow enthusiast; motor-bike riding, insurance broker Kyle; and stylish yoga enthusiast Sarah.

Come Dine With Me NZ will screen at 7pm weeknights on TV3 until the start of the channel's new current affairs programme, which will replace the axed Campbell Live.
