AC/DC, one of the biggest selling rock acts in history, will play Auckland's Western Springs and Wellington's Westpac Stadium in December.
It will be the second music act to play Wellington's stadium since Bon Jovi in 2010. Elton John's concert on November 21 will be the first.
The exact dates in December are still to be announced and tickets will go on sale next month. In the meantime fans can sign up to waitlists for the Auckland and Wellington shows, through Ticketmaster and Ticketek respectfully.
The band play the high-profile Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the United States on Saturday and on April 17, before kicking off its The Rock or Bust World Tour in Europe. When tickets went on sale for the European leg 1.75 million tickets were sold in the first 24 hours. The band will also tour North America in August and September, then their homeland of Australia in November.
AC/DC last played Westpac Stadium over two nights in January 2010, where there were seen by 60,404 people.
The band line-up includes founder Angus Young, but won't include Tauranga-based drummer Phil Rudd. Rudd, 60, last year pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis and threatening to kill.
Welsh drummer Chris Slade, who played with AC/DC from 1989 until 1994 rejoined as a touring member this year.
